Adult Confirmation

If you are interested in attending the Adult Confirmation Class, at St. Rose of Lima in Gaithersburg, Maryland, please fill out the form below. This session is offerred once per year. It starts on January 5, 2023. Class is every other Thursday and continues until Pentecost, May 28, 2023 (please see the schedule below).

Confirmation for Adults is normally held on Pentecost at the Catherdral of Saint Matthew mid afternoon and will satisfy your Sunday obligation. The Confirmation date is established by the Archdiocese.

  By being married, it refers to any marriage, whether contracted in a civil ceremony or in any church, synagogue, temple, or mosque, even if one or both parties were non-Catholic and even if the marriage has been annulled.

- Each person must submit a NEWLY dated Certificate of Baptism with notations from the church of their baptism before they can receive the sacrament of Confirmation. The Certificate of Baptism has to be dated no more than 6 months from the time preparation begins. Do not submit the original certificate issued at the time of baptism.
  
  If you are unable to obtain a baptismal certificate, please contact the Director of Liturgy and Adult Formation.
  
  Attendance and participation at all sessions is mandatory. Candidates may not miss more than 1 session without prior notice and the session needs to be made up.
  
  One is also making the moral commitment to attend and participate in Sunday Mass every single weekend (Saturday vigil or Sunday) unless truly restricted by illness/emergency and to live according to the Church's whole body of teachings.
